Connecticut Newborn Photography Sessions
With over 15 years of experience, Christy Mitchell Photography is one of Connecticut's leading newborn photographers. I am fully insured and trained in the latest newborn safety protocols ensuring your baby's well-being throughout the session.
Newborn photography is one of my favorites-capturing those precious first moments that you and your family will cherish forever. Babies grow so quickly, and those early days are fleeting. My goal is to preserve those memories for you to treasure for a lifetime.
To reserve your session, please reach out during your pregnancy to add your due date to my calendar. Once your little one has arrived, simply email me and we'll schedule the perfect session time. Newborns are best photographed between 7-16 days old, as they tend to be sleepiest and easiest to pose during this window.
All sessions are held in my cozy, private home studio in Wallingford Monday through Friday mornings. Weekend sessions are available upon request , with an additional premium. I provide a wide range of hats, wraps, headbands and props for you to choose from-just bring your baby and I'll take care of the rest!

Connecticut Maternity Photography Sessions
With over 15 years of experience, Christy Mitchell Photography is one of Connecticut's leading maternity photographers. There is nothing more beautiful than a glowing mom-to be and her baby bump-this is such an exciting and unforgettable time in a woman's life!
Maternity sessions can be held in-studio or on location depending on your preference. The best time for maternity portraits is between 28-35 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round and you're still feeling comfortable.
As a CMP Maternity client, you'll have exclusive access to my client closet filled with maternity gowns to make you feel fabulous during your session. Plus when you book your newborn session alongside your maternity session, you'll receive a special discount!

What should I wear to my session?
There are many options to keep in mind when deciding what to wear for your family photos. Coordinating outfits for photos doesnt need to be difficult. Focus on accomplishing a cohesive look. When deciding what to wear for photos, pick a palette of 3-4 colors.. Let this be the starting place. Thinking in terms of tones: blue tones, earth tones, neutrals, pastels, etc. Everyone in the family can express their own sense of style with the chosen color palette and the whole group will coordinate beautifully.
For on location sessions what time do you do those sessions?
Generally , I begin shooting during the golden hour period that occurs two hours before sunset. Sunrise and early morning sessions are also available.
How soon will I get my proof gallery after my session?
You will receive your proof gallery with 24-48 hours after your session.
Do I have to bring props or headbands to my newborn session?
No CMP has a wide variety of hats, headbands, wraps, outfits and props for you to use during your session! All you have to bring is the baby.
