Look who is ONE! (well almost, this little guy will be turning the big ONE in April. 🙂

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Christy, the photographer behind Christy Mitchell Photography! I specialize in maternity, newborn, child, family, and senior photography in Connecticut, with my studio located in Wallingford.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Sora for his first birthday photo session, and let me tell you—it was a blast! Did you know that Sora was actually born during the solar eclipse last year? How fitting that his name means “Sky”—the perfect name for such a bright and energetic little guy!

A Session Full of Energy & Fun!

Sora is a mover and a shaker, and he’s been walking (more like running!) since he was just nine months old. Needless to say, I had the air conditioning on in the studio because we were all working up a sweat keeping up with him! If someone had filmed the behind-the-scenes action, you would’ve had a good laugh—animal sounds, peek-a-boo, dancing, and plenty of playful chasing made this session extra fun.

A Customized First Birthday Experience

Sora’s mom selected the Signature Studio Session, which allowed for three different setups. She chose:

1. Classic All-White Setup – Perfect for timeless family portraits.
2. Sprinkle Theme – Sora rocked the cutest “ONE” sweater, and it couldn’t have been more perfect!
3. Cookie Monster & Friends Setup – Complete with Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and Grover, this theme was a hit! And really, who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies? (and let’s talk about those adorable overalls that his auntie designed up for him!!)
