Hello & Welcome to my blog!
There are sessions that come together easily… and then there are sessions like Grace and Nate’s — twins from Lyman Hall High School Class of 2026 — that make you work for every single moment. And let me tell you… this one was worth the wait.

A Senior Session Four Attempts in the Making
Grace and Nate’s mom first reached out back in September to reserve a fall senior session. We carefully chose a date that worked around my schedule, plus their busy lives filled with sports and work.
And then… it rained.
No problem — we had a backup date!
It rained again.
Okay… let’s try one more time.
Rain. Again.
At this point, fall was slipping away and colder weather was setting in. Determined not to give up, we scheduled anotherdate — this time in November on Veterans Day (no school = perfect timing, right?).
Well… if you remember that day, you’ll know the wind gusts were hitting nearly 30 mph !
We decided to go for it anyway and met at Gouveia Vineyards… which, in hindsight, felt like stepping into a hurricane. Safe to say, that plan didn’t last long!
A Quick Pivot for Yearbook Photos
With rain approaching and wind not letting up, we quickly pivoted to Tyler Mill Preserve — a much more sheltered, wooded location.
At that point, our goal was simple: get yearbook photos for both Grace and Nate, and plan to do the full senior session later.
And thankfully, everything aligned for just a few perfect minutes — the wind calmed, the light was beautiful, and we captured exactly what we needed.
We officially scheduled their full session for April 26th… and yes, the forecast again showed rain all week leading up to it.

Finally… The Perfect Day at Chatfield Hollow
But this time, Mother Nature finally gave us a break
We were gifted a gorgeous 60-degree spring day and headed to Chatfield Hollow State Park — the perfect location for these two.
Between exploring the trails, soaking in the scenery, and staying alert (because it was Senior Assassin week ), the session was filled with fun, laughter, and even a few photos with water guns at the end.

Meet Nate | Class of 2026 Senior
Nate is outgoing, energetic, and loves being around people — you can tell instantly.
Sports have been a huge part of his life since he was just 3 years old. He’s played both hockey and baseball for years, and his dedication has truly paid off.
- Committed to play baseball at Eastern Connecticut State University
- Helped lead the Lyman Hall baseball team to a State Championship last year (I was there — such an exciting game!)
- The team is currently undefeated this season and on track for another incredible run
- His hockey team also won a State Championship this year
Two sports. Two championships. That’s seriously impressive.
Nate plans to study Physical Education and Health Education and has a passion for mentoring and coaching younger athletes — something I have no doubt he’ll excel at.

Meet Grace | Class of 2026 Senior
Grace has such a calm, grounded presence and a true love for the outdoors — which made Chatfield Hollow State Park the perfect setting for her session.
- Competitive swimmer specializing in backstroke and relays
- Also plays tennis
- Loves hiking and being outside
- Committed to Monmouth University
She plans to study environmental and marine biology — a perfect fit for someone who feels so connected to nature.
Fun fact: her swim coach, Donna, was actually my coach when I swam for Lyman Hall — such a small world!

A Special Twin Bond
One of the things that stood out most during this session was the bond between Grace and Nate.
You can tell they genuinely enjoy being around each other — something that isn’t always the case with siblings, especially twins heading off to different colleges.
While they’ll be taking separate paths this fall, I have no doubt they’ll stay close and visit each other often.

Wishing Them the Best
In just a few short months, Grace and Nate will be walking across the stage, closing one chapter and starting another.
From rainy reschedules to windy chaos to a perfect spring day — this session was unforgettable from start to finish.
Grace and Nate, I’m so glad we finally made this happen. I can’t wait to see all that you accomplish — I have no doubt you’re both headed for amazing things
