I have been getting a lot of questions about what happens at one of my newborn sessions at my Wallingford Studio , so I figured I would create a blog post about it.

What is the best time to photograph my newborn?

Newborn sessions are best when babies are 7-16 days as that is when they are the sleepiest and its easiest to obtain those sweet curled up poses. I have had good luck with older babies, so if you are past 16 days don’t worry…they can still be wrapped up and you can get some amazing photos!

What do I have to bring to my newborn session?

You just need to bring your newborn! (well a bottle if you bottle feed your baby and a pacifier if you use them!) My studio has a wide variety of hats, headbands, props, blankets, wraps, outfits. If there is something special you want to incorporate into your newborn session, we will discuss that in your consultation email. CMP also has spare diapers, wipes and individual sanitized pacifiers if you forget yours!

What days do you photograph newborns?

All newborn sessions are held in my private studio located in Wallingford during the week, Monday through Friday. Newborn sessions are typically done at 10:00 am. Weekend sessions are available upon request and carry an additional weekend premium.

Can the siblings get photographed with their new brother or sister?

YES! I will always encourage the siblings to take part in the session with their new baby! All Newborn Collections with CMP, offers a sibling photo. The Classic & Signature Collection offers multiple sibling photos. The Petite Collection offers one sibling and one parent photo. I will always encourage siblings to be brought about an hour after the sessions starts so they don’t have to wait around until its their turn to be photographed.
