A one-year portrait session is an exciting milestone for both parents and their child. Here are some things you can expect during a one-year portrait session with Christy Mitchell Photography:

This is a playful and interactive session a celebration of the first year! At this age, children are usually very active and curious about their surroundings. If they are walking, they are on the move. These milestone sessions are typically 1 hour long. Did you know that CMP always includes family and siblings in this first year milestone? The first 45 minutes are the individual and family photos and the last 15 minutes are spent watching the cake fly! Those of you that have had me photograph your littles before, know that I LOVE PROPS. I have a huge assortment of toys, props, ride ons, bubbles, books and other fun things to help engage your child and capture their natural expressions.

Can I do outfit changes at my childs photography session?

YES! Did you know that CMP offers a gallery of backdrops for you to choose your theme/set up for your child’s first birthday photo session celebration? I have lost count, but there is over 75 backdrops that you can choose from. Is there a photography birthday backdrop/scene you want that I don’t have? If you book early enough, I will do my best to create the perfect set up for your little one! You can expect to have a few outfit changes during the session. You can choose different outfits that showcase your child’s personality and style, such as a cute dress, a fun onesie, or a stylish hat.

What if my child doesnt sit still for photos?

Thats ok!! I will offer both Candid and posed shots! The mix of candid and posed shots showcase your child’s personality and their special bond with you. You can expect to see images of your child laughing, playing, and interacting with you. Sometimes they need a minute and that is ok too. I will always take the cue from the littles .
