Your child is going to be starting their senior year of high school. If you are like me, you are really trying to figure out how that happened, since it was just yesterday they were heading off to kindergarten. There is so many emotions around the senior year. Two of my boys have graduated high school and I have to say the emotions the second time around were just as much the first time. The senior year of high school though is such a fun year. Its a year of independence too. Its a whirlwind year with thinking about what the future holds for your child. Whether its trade school, college, a gap year, going into the work force… So that leads me to yearbook photos. Who do I get my photos done with, when do I get my photos done?
What exactly is a senior session and what does it involve?
A senior session typically refers to a photography session for high school seniors, capturing their personality and commemorating their final year before graduation.
What can I expect at a senior session with Christy Mitchell Photography?
Before the session, you have a consultation with the me to discuss your vision, style, and any specific ideas or themes you want to incorporate. This is an opportunity to share your preferences and ask any questions you may have. We will talk about who you are and what you want your session to portray. We will discuss locations. We will talk about outfit suggestions. Did you know that I bring along a changing tent at all my sessions so you can if you wish have multiple outfit changes?
I am located in Wallingford, CT but will travel the state of CT for your senior session. Over the past 13 years I have photographed hundreds of seniors and can honestly say that each session is always amazing to me. Some of my seniors, I have watched growing up over the years, some have been clients since they were 8 years old. Such a special time to be a part of. With all my senior sessions there is no additional charge for your family to be included in the session.
Why would I want my family and my siblings to be in my session ?
Including your family in your senior session is entirely up to your personal preference. Some individuals choose to have family members participate in their senior sessions, while others prefer to focus solely on themselves.
Here are a few factors to consider when deciding whether to involve your family. Meaning and significance: Including your family in your senior session can be a meaningful way to capture the love and support they have provided throughout your high school years. It can showcase the close bond you share and serve as a tribute to their role in your achievements.
Inclusion in family portraits: If you haven’t had professional family portraits taken in a while, your senior session could be an opportunity to update them. This way, you can have individual portraits as well as family portraits to commemorate this milestone in your life. Holiday cards DONE! Ultimately, the decision to involve your family in your senior session is a personal one. Consider your preferences, the dynamics of your family, and the overall atmosphere you want to create. Whether you choose to include them or not, the goal is to capture this special moment in your life and create lasting memories.
